We've outlined the three steps you'll need to complete to be part of the festival down below. If you need our help at any point along the way, you can email our support staff at support@hollywoodfringe.org.
STEP ONE: CREATE YOUR PROJECT
It’s totally free to post an idea on our website…just create a project.
It can be anything you might like to bring to the Fringe, there is no obligation. Add some thoughts, pictures, video: Whatever you need to articulate your idea. This is a public project – anything you post can be seen by the Fringe world. Hopefully, it will attract some attention from members of the community who might be able to help by lending resources and assistance.
STEP TWO: APPLY TO YOUR PREFERRED VENUE(S)
Ready to take it to the next step? Get ready to hunt for a venue. We have made this process easier by securing a list of Hollywood venues interested in hosting Fringe programming. When you apply, they will receive an email with your application information and a link to your project. Feel free to contact them directly once you have applied online.
Already have leads on a venue in Hollywood? Register your own venue. Participants converting unlikely spaces into full-fledged Fringe venues is the lifeblood of the festival. You might also open your new venue to other fringe projects, offsetting your costs and expanding opportunities to other artists.
See our article on finding a venue to learn more about this process.
If you have trouble finding a suitable venue, booking a venue or getting in touch with your venue, contact us at support@hollywoodfringe.org.
STEP THREE: REGISTER WITH THE FRINGE
When you pay your registration you secure your spot as a festival participant. This avails you to all the benefits of participation (see below).
You can register your Fringe show before completing a deal with a venue, which means you won't need to wait on a third party to ensure your spot in the festival.
Fringe Registration Fees:
- $300 for paid/ticketed and/or multi-performance shows
- $175 for shows that are either free or one-time performances (or both)
- $50 for educational events (workshops, etc.)
- You may register an educational event for $0 if you have already registered another show
Important note: It is you responsibility to ensure you book a venue (this will most likely include additional fees). If you pay your registration fee and are unable to complete a booking or are unable to produce the show, we are happy to rollover your fee to a subsequent year. We will also refund your registration if the request is made on August 15 or earlier. Note: This date has been moved to August 15 for the 2020 Festival. Fringe will be making a final determination about proceeding with a rescheduled festival in October 2020 on August 1, 2020, based on the recommendations of local and state health officials.
BENEFITS OF REGISTRATION
We have tried to keep our registration costs as low as possible so all can participate. Most of the money raised through registration will be spent on marketing the festival itself. Remember: We don’t guarantee you an audience, however we do everything we can to make sure people know about the Festival as a whole. Attracting festival-goers to see your show is a task you need to tackle yourself (we will help you along).
Once you have paid your registration fee, you are entitled to these benefits:
Promotion
Inclusion in the Fringe Guide, Fringe Website and all the festival-wide promotion enacted every year including ads, pole signs, radio spots and more.
