What does the “LIVE” in livestream mean for your production in HFF21?
HFF will not have a category for on-demand or fully recorded productions, but that doesn’t mean that your show has to be 100% live. It means that your show must contain a noticeably live element. As you write and build your show, you can interpret that in many different and creative ways. Here are some questions to ask yourself as you navigate the livestream categories and ultimately determine whether or not your show will fit into HFF21’s livestream model:
- Do the live elements in your show play an integral role in the story you’re telling?
- Is there enough of a live element to continually pull your audience into the experience? Your show has that “anything can happen at any moment, and I’m here for it” factor.
- Does each individual performance provide at least a slightly different experience for the audience & performer, as an in-person stage production would?
If you answered YES to each of these questions, then fear not; you are ready for HFF21!
If you are registering as a livestream production in this year’s festival and aren’t sure if your show fits this format, please reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org or come to any of our events, and HFF staff would be happy to chat through the specifics of your show.
