Then you need an intimacy choreographer!
Kendra A Miller (they/them) is an intimacy choreographer, director, and screenwriter based in LA. They are accredited through the Intimacy Professionals Association. They are a proud Fringe artist who recently brought their Untapped Award-winning sold-out sexy clown show Pigs Fly Easy Ryan to Underbelly at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in 2025. They have twenty years of experience in movement-based live performance, including as an intimacy choreographer, director, and physical theatre performer. Their feature film Perfect, starring Julia Fox, debuts in March 2026. Their work has been produced at Camden People’s Theatre, Pleasance Theatre, the Royal School of Speech and Drama at the University of London, Steppenwolf Theatre, Goodman Theatre, The Second City, Redmoon, About Face Theatre, Jackalope Theatre, and Salonathon. They have an MFA with distinction from the University of London.
Hi, I’m Kendra, and for Fringe artists I’m pleased to offer a sliding scale (from free!) depending on your production’s needs. I’m happy to discuss further, just drop me an email and let’s chat. I can offer three different tiers of support:
- Intimacy workshop: A one-hour workshop with the cast and stage management on how to create and maintain a healthy shared language of consent, boundaries, intimacy, and chemistry in the rehearsals and run, including exercises specific to your script and production.
- Intimacy choreography: The workshop plus full choreography of intimate scenes and moments, which includes meetings with the director, one-on-one meetings with performers, attending rehearsals, blocking in the room, and consulting for the design team about how to support intimate moments.
- Intimacy direction: Full direction of intimate scenes, using dramaturgical analysis and movement-based research to create clear physical blocking and artistic interpretation of the intimate scenes in the script

An intimacy professional or intimacy coordinator (film/tv)/intimacy director (theatre) is a member of a production team who specializes in scenes that involve simulated sex, nudity/hyper-exposure, or other forms of intimate physical contact. I come on board to provide additional oversight to these moments. I facilitate the communication necessary to get the ongoing voluntary consent of the actors while honoring the director’s vision. Depending on the needs of the production, I may provide choreography, language for nudity riders, know-how of modesty garments or masking, and other support. I keep relevant departments informed of the unique needs of these scenes and take pressure off all involved so that these moments can sing. I have training from Intimacy Directors & Coordinators, Inc., having completed their intensive Intimacy Professional Accelerator Program. I also attended and received additional training at the IDC Professionals 2025 Conference. I am thrilled that the inclusion of intimacy coordinators/directors on productions is rapidly gaining in popularity even though his position didn't even have a name until 2017. So like most intimacy professionals, I'm relatively new to this! Fortunately, this work aligns perfectly with my extensive experience as an actor, director, producer, acting teacher, and improviser. I’ve worked with several of the artists participating in this year’s Fringe through Bardfly Theater Company, which I founded in 2023.
Service Cost Breakdown: For Hollywood Fringe 2026, I am offering a rate of $200. This would include 1-2 rehearsals + prep (including zoom meetings with director and actors). That rate could adjust depending on the scope of the work and if you needed me for multiple days/rehearsals. I’m also open to adjustments if the production is working under a favored nations model.
